House Address Sign

Simple Story:

Address Sign Front View
My home, like most, has address numbers on the front. In my case they were inherited upon purchase, just some stick on square on the corner of the garage. Fine. I did not get to concerned about that until I painted the house. I had to remove them to paint properly and as they were old and ugly, new ones were called for.

Well ... I can't let that go to easily so I figured out some fancy ones and a way to do it. I decided to make a large plaque and paint it the trim color. Rather than a simple square block of wood, beveling the edges and then having the sign "float" (as I often do on projects) suited my tastes well.

Just a chunk of 2 x 6 I had in my scrap pile. Machined it up, sanded and painted it. The numbers: went to my local home center store and looked at what was available, picked some I liked and there you go: new home address numbers!
