The objective was to accommodate the clients needs. He provided me with the "hardware" he desired: a "Egg" oriental cooker, a small refrigerator, a smoker and a old, discarded large butcher block top he found in the garbage. From there, we designed the piece and then I made it.

The design grew as the client and I discussed options and possibilities. The BBQ ended up with beveled edge panels, lots of shelves, a raised chopping block", drawers, replaceable top for a smoker and more. All ideas seemed like good ones to both the client and myself.

With both of us wanting this to be special, it turned out special. It was both a joy and a challenge and I enjoyed it.

The finished product was delivered to the client and at that time the fridge, smoker, egg and butcher block top were installed. Thus, in my shop, all the elements were never in place at one time. Later the client sent me a couple of photos of the BBQ all done with everything installed (see photos above).
