Cable Outlet Cover Completed
I've been re-modeling and making items for my daughters room for a long time. Everything is in a very dark pine theme and horse or barn related. For the electrical outlets and light switch covers, I purchased manufactured plain wood covers and stained and finished them to match the rest of the wood items I've made for the room. A cable outlet box cover: I could not find such a thing so it was time to make one.

On the surface, just what you see - some wood. I could not exactly match the manufactured covers design details so I did not try. I just rounded off the edges and the look is pretty good. Certainly far better than buying or using the existing plastic cover.

The difficulty came behind the cover, what you do not see. To allow the standard outlet box in wall screw mounts as well as the actual cable mounting, there had to be a certain size opening, certain thickness of wood at the cable wire connection area and mounting holes in the face of the place at the proper places. Well, took a little work, but mission accomplished.
