Custom Designed Dining Room Mirror

The client wanted a mirror to match their new dining room buffet. Actually I designed and made the buffet. Before the project began we discussed many ideas and I suggested we add a matching mirror. Sounded great and they liked the idea also. Together, they are quite a feature in their home.
A mirror could certainly be made and designed independent of another piece of furniture and this mirror would look very nice by itself.
The beautifully finished special Kimberly pine used for the framing is beautiful. Leather inserts on the top and bottom of the frame add interest and texture. Due to the size of the mirror and it's end location above the buffet, it was decided to make the frame "double thick" - consisting of two boards glued together to give the frame more weight and emphasis. Turned out great.
Contruction was rather ordinary - no real problems. Early on the wife and I had envisioned and anticipated a mirror about as wide as you see but only about half the height. Upon delivering the buffet, the husband was firm on wanted a much higher mirror. We discussed it briefly but conceded. And, when done, I could not agree more. This mirror looks great in it's final location.
