Kimberly Pine Wall Display Boxes

Wall Display Boxes Completed
The Kimberly Pine Wall Display Boxes you see here were a prototype. I received an inquiry to make 10 Sculputure Display Boxes. I agreed and an early need was a prototype. That prototype turned out great and as planned from the beginning became part of my daughters' room.

My daughters' room has many items I've made and stylistically contain dark walnut stained pine pieces combined with light stained Kimberly Pine. Kimberly Pine is a more expensive pine with much nicer grain patterns than "normal" pine. I decided to make these Wall Display Boxes out of Kimberly Pine.

I found some pieces in my shop and cut them to size. Angles were cut on all the box edges. Rabbit grooves were cut into the tops and bottoms pieces. Biscuit grooves were then cut into the edges. All the pieces were glued together. The boxes were then sanded and stained. A final finish of tung oil was applied. The boxes were hung and my daughter loves them (as do I).
