Potting Bench

As I do quite a bit of gardening, a potting bench comes in pretty handy. I looked around at various plans and methods of making potting benches and came up with a modifcation of various plans which ended up with all the features I wanted. You, too would want to think about what you want and then those features could be made into your ideal potting bench.

My bench was most strongly influenced by a plan which is listed on my site here under "Browse Projects: Garden items: Potting Bench 1", click here for a comparison. I added some extra elements: I made it longer, wider and taller. I added extra bracing holding the upper shelves to the main bench (don't want that thing falling on me). Put in two drawers instead of one. Extra legs in the middle for both shelf support and work surface support and made the cutout area for the "plastic bin" below the surface rather than sitting above the surface. And I made a matching lid to cover the bin cut out to make the working surface flat when not using the "bin". A very nice potting bench.
