Compost Bin

My Comments:

Made my own compost bin with some of the features of this one. The sliding out front boards, I love, very easy to work with for filling and holding your compost. Just take out how ever many you need to access properly. I made mine a 3 bin, have the room and also lets me work on more compost. Could make a 1 bin version, would just require more work on your part to turn the stuff ocassionally, but if you don't have room or won't be doing a lot of soil making, would be fine. Also, bin size is somewhat up to you. However, studying up before making mine, the area of the bin and the "stuffs" own weight need to such that decay and degredation is encouraged. If the bins became too small it may not work real good. Also, I angled my tops and used "corrugated plastic" panels. Keeps rain and stuff off and should last a long time (mine is about 3 or 4 years old and is doing fine). I did not do the "hold up stick" thing, wish I would have and I think I'll add that on in near future. Never think about it most of the time, but, as stated above, I take out the boards to access and the "lid up" feature is not a real big deal to me.
